Three little flags that spell ONE, and the cake-smash photo that everybody keeps. This is a high chair banner built on one 5×7 inch pennant that you duplicate once per letter in Canva: a goose wearing a pink cone hat, a pink balloon bobbing on its string, sitting inside a wreath of pink bows, white daisies and trailing green leaves on pale pink gingham, with the bottom edge notched into a shallow point so the flags hang like bunting. The sample lettering reads O, N and E.

What you get

  • One 5×7 inch pennant template in Canva — the goose, the wreath, the gingham and a single large letter
  • Download as a PNG or a PDF from Canva once your lettering is set
  • Digital only: no string, no ribbon, no printed flags, nothing posted

Spelling the word out

One template, used once per letter. Set the pennant with an O, duplicate the page in Canva for the N, again for the E, and you have the whole word; a longer name or “HAPPY BIRTHDAY” just needs more copies of the same page. The template exports one pennant per sheet, so three flags means three sheets of card.

Cut along the V, then thread the flags onto ribbon, string or lace. The photos show pink satin ribbon at each end of the high chair rail and a strip of lace behind the flags; a hole punch at the top corners and a longer loop of string will do the same job.

How editing works

Your editing tool is Canva — the free design app that opens in a browser tab or on your phone, with nothing to install. The order brings a Canva template link: open it and Canva offers you a copy of the banner for your own account, which takes one click and a free Canva login. Change the letter and any small line, restyle the letter’s colour or font if you want to, then use Canva’s Share > Download menu to save the flag as a PNG or a PDF; PDF Print gives you a page that comes out at the 5×7 size. Duplicate the page in Canva once per letter, so O, N and E are three pages of one design rather than three separate downloads. Canva is fully functional on iOS and Android, so a phone is fine for retyping, though a laptop makes the notch and the wreath easier to judge.

Text, colour and font are what you can change: the letter itself, any small line you want on the flag, and how the lettering is set. What stays untouched: the goose, the wreath of ribbon and daisies, the gingham beneath it, and the 5×7 portrait format.

Not included

No card, ribbon, string, punch or printer ink arrives with this — it is a file. Nobody edits the flag for you either; the lettering is yours to set in Canva.

Print it for your own party and keep the file to yourself: personal use, not for resale, not for handing on to another family’s celebration.

What can be edited

  • All text fields are editable.
  • Artwork, template size and orientation cannot be changed.
  • Files/templates are sold as seen. You are responsible for editing the template yourself.

Do I get three flags or one?

One pennant template, 5×7 inches. You change the letter and download it once per flag, so a three-letter word uses the same page three times. That also means a longer banner costs nothing extra.

How much card do I need?

One sheet per flag in the template’s own one-up layout. Three flags for ONE, four for a four-letter name. Matte card around 200–250 gsm hangs well and does not curl at the corners.

Will it fit my high chair?

The rail is the limit, not the flags: three 5×7 pennants need roughly 18 inches of ribbon across the front, so measure the rail and drop a flag if the chair is narrow. A tray-mounted chair usually takes two.

Can I use it on the cake table instead?

Yes — pin the string between two cake stands or tape it along a shelf edge. The gingham and the bows read the same at close range, which is where a cake table lives.

What if the letter I need is a shape, not a letter?

The text field takes what you type, so a number or a single initial works as happily as a letter. Only the frame around it stays fixed.

Can it hang somewhere other than the high chair?

Yes — a shelf edge, the front of the cake table or a mantel all work. On a wall, use removable adhesive hooks and keep the string fairly taut, otherwise the middle flag dips behind the ones either side.

Does it have to be card?

Card holds the point at the bottom; ordinary printer paper softens and curls within a day. 200–250 gsm is the sweet spot, and a paper trimmer gives a cleaner V than scissors do.
