Two thank-you cards in one purchase, because the polite version depends on the guest: one plain 5×7 card you can post, and one landscape card with a photo panel for the people who want to see how much the baby has grown. Both carry one goose in a pink cone hat with a balloon floating on its string, among daisies and pale green stems inside a pink ribbon border, on soft pink gingham.

What you get

  • One 5×7 inch card without a photo, portrait
  • One 7×5 inch card with a photo panel, landscape
  • Export as JPEG or PDF
  • Two templates, no printed cards, no envelopes

The wording already on the card

The sample reads:

“Thank You — I loved the cake and presents too, but my most favorite part was seeing you! Thank you for coming and celebrating my silly 1st birthday with me! Love, Georgina”

It rhymes, it is written in the child’s voice, and it only works in the first person, so the child’s name at the bottom and the “1st” are the two things you will definitely change. Everything else can stand, or be trimmed to a plain thank-you if you would rather not have the verse.

How editing works

Both cards are CORJL templates, edited in a browser rather than in a program you install. We email your template access link to the address on your order. It is sent by hand rather than automatically, so allow a few hours; if it has not arrived, check your spam folder and contact us so we can resend it. If a few minutes pass and there is no email, look in the spam or promotions folder, then message us and we will resend the link. Sign up for a free CORJL account from that email and work at a desktop or laptop — phone screens make the small text boxes awkward.

Access lasts 90 days from the order. Export your PDF or JPEG well inside that, because the link stops opening the template on day 90; anything you have saved is yours to reprint.

The verse, the name after “Love” and the age are text fields. On the photo version, the photo panel takes your own image. The goose, the hat, the balloon, the daisy border, the gingham and both card sizes cannot be changed.

Printing thank-you cards

Card stock matters more here than on an invitation, because a thank-you is handled, put in an envelope and often kept. Aim for 250–300 gsm matte: heavy enough to stand on a table, matte enough that the pale gingham does not glare under a light.

The photo version is often printed at a photo lab, which handles the image better than a home printer; give them the JPEG at 7×5. The plain card prints one to a sheet on A4 or US Letter. A print shop can lay two up on one sheet and trim them, or print it as it is and you trim the four edges yourself.

Not included

No printed cards, envelopes, stamps or editing service. You are buying the files and doing the personalising yourself.

Cards are for thanking your own guests — personal use only, not for resale or for handing the template on.

What can be edited

  • All text fields are editable.
  • Artwork, template size and orientation cannot be changed.
  • Files/templates are sold as seen. You are responsible for editing the template yourself.

Not had the party yet? The gingham 1st birthday invitation and the welcome sign use the same goose.

Can I use the photo version without a photo?

You can leave the photo panel empty and export it, but the layout is built around the image, so the plain 5×7 card will look better. Both are in the same purchase — use one for the posted thank-yous and the other for close family.

How do I get my photo into the template?

On the photo card, the panel is a replaceable image. Save your photo as a JPEG, open the template on a computer, and upload it in CORJL in place of the sample. A portrait cropped to the panel’s proportions drops in without stretching.

Can I change “1st birthday” to a name-day or a christening?

The verse is text, so the words can change, but the goose wears a party hat and holds a balloon. It reads as a birthday; for another occasion the artwork will look out of place.

How many cards will I need?

One per guest who brought something, plus a few spare. Printed at home that is one sheet each; a print shop will fit two to a sheet. The same files reprint at any time without a new purchase.

Can the card be sent as an email instead?

Yes. Export the JPEG and attach it, or export the PDF and print it later. Nothing about the card requires paper, though a thank-you lands better in an envelope.

More in this range — matching pieces in the same artwork: pink gingham 1st birthday invitation, first birthday welcome sign, books for baby request card, pink gingham place cards.
