Eleven cut-outs that turn one plain cake into a dinosaur party. Four cartoon dinosaurs — a yellow triceratops, an orange T-Rex, a blue stegosaurus and a spotted green long-neck — plus four speckled eggs, two green leaves and a polka-dot “ROAR!”. Everything prints on a single 8.5 × 11 inch sheet and gets cut out, then goes onto sticks for the cake or sits flat on cupcakes.

What you get

  • 11 pieces on one letter page, as a PDF and as a JPG
  • Sizes as drawn: T-Rex 4 × 4.2 in, triceratops 4.1 × 3.7 in, stegosaurus 4.8 × 2.6 in, long-neck 2.6 × 4.5 in
  • “ROAR!” 4 × 1.1 in, two leaves 2 × 2.5 in each, four eggs 1.3 × 1.6 in each
  • A finished design: the dinosaurs, colours and lettering are fixed, with no editor and no name to add
  • Not included: sticks, toothpicks, tape, cake or cupcakes

Printing and assembling

Print on matte card — around 200 gsm is enough to stand up on a stick without going floppy — at 100% so the sizes hold. Cut slightly outside each printed outline, leaving a thin white edge, which hides a wobbly scissor line.

For a cake, tape a toothpick or a lollipop stick to the back of the four dinosaurs and the ROAR letters and push them into the icing. For cupcakes, one dinosaur each. The eggs and leaves are small enough to lie flat on the cake board or tuck between the cakes.

What it is not

A static printable. Nothing about it can be edited, so it is not the product for a cake that says “Happy 3rd Birthday, Arlo” — the lettering here is the ROAR graphic only. Personal use only; not for resale.

How tall is the biggest dinosaur?

The T-Rex prints at about 4 × 4.2 inches and the stegosaurus is the widest at 4.8 inches. Add roughly three inches for the stick when you are working out the cake height.

Are the sticks supplied?

No. You attach your own toothpicks or lollipop sticks, which is why the file works for a cake, a cupcake stand or a party platter.

Can I have just the T-Rex printed larger?

You can scale the page when printing, but everything grows together and the pieces stop matching the sizes listed here. For a single big topper, print again and use one dinosaur on a longer stick.

Will it suit a girl’s dinosaur party?

The palette is bright rather than pastel, so it reads as a general dinosaur party. Our pink dinosaur sets are a separate design if you want blush and gold.

What paper should I use?

Matte card, 200 gsm or a touch heavier, so the cut-outs do not curl. Photo paper is glossy enough to catch the light in an unhelpful way.
