Size: 3.5x5 in, 3.5x2.5 in · Editable in: Corjl

A place card template 3.5 × 5 in / 8.9 × 12.7 cm flat, folding to 3.5 × 2.5 in / 8.9 × 6.4 cm, laid out four to a sheet and edited in Corjl.

One template, three jobs

  • Folded in half it is a tent card at 3.5 × 2.5 in — a name at each place setting
  • Open, it is a 3.5 × 5 in card for the buffet, labelling what is in each dish
  • Or number the tables with it instead of naming them

Four to a sheet, which is the point

The template is set up to print four cards on one 8.5 × 11 in / 21.6 × 27.9 cm Letter sheet, so a table of sixteen place settings comes off four sheets rather than sixteen. Fold on the score line and the card stands up on its own; nothing else is needed to hold it.

What you can change in Corjl

Every text field is yours — names, dish labels, table numbers, the lot — typed in a browser on a phone, tablet or laptop, with nothing to install. The mermaid tail, the pastel jellyfish and the palette stay put, as do the card size and its orientation. Save a PDF when you are done; you can print a second sheet later without losing the first. Access runs for 90 days, and a request for longer is usually granted — we regularly extend it.

Printing the tents

Print the PDF at 100% on Letter card stock heavy enough to stand on its own, then cut along the trim marks and fold. Matte card photographs better than glossy, and a light score down the fold line stops the card cracking along the crease. A print shop will run the same file on heavier stock if you want the cards to last a whole weekend of parties.

Not included

  • No printed cards are posted, and no envelopes
  • No stand or holder — the fold is the stand

For the rest of the table

Questions

Can I use them as food labels instead of names?

Yes. The buffet version sits flat or leans against the dish; type the dish name into the same text field you would use for a guest's name.

How many cards do I get?

As many as you print. The template holds four to a Letter sheet and the file is yours, so ten guests is three sheets and forty guests is ten.

Will they stand up on their own?

Folded on the score line in card stock, yes. Paper is too floppy for a tent card, so print on card.
